How to Specify a Smart TV Order for Africa and the Middle East

A television order for Africa or the Middle East starts with a destination country and a defined product specification. Use a reference configuration to begin the discussion, then confirm the exact hardware, software and sample before placing a production order.

Screen size and price are useful starting points, but the broadcast system, panel, mainboard, software and packaging all need to match the intended market.

Define the destination and supply format

Tell your supplier where the TVs will be sold, who will import them and whether you need complete units or an assembly kit. Broadcast standards, plugs, labeling and documentation can differ between countries. Hongxun’s current common digital TV configuration includes DVB-T2 and DVB-S2, but these should be checked against your destination and receiving requirements rather than treated as one configuration for every country.

If your business has local assembly capability, discuss the scope of an SKD or CKD TV supply project. Agree the parts list, assembly responsibilities, technical information and sample approval process before comparing it with complete-unit supply.

Select the size and confirm the panel

Hongxun’s DLED TV reference range covers 32, 40, 43, 50, 55 and 65 inches. The current references list HD or Full HD options for 32 and 40 inches, Full HD for 43 inches, and 4K UHD for 50, 55 and 65 inches. Panel selections can change between projects, so a size label alone is not a complete specification.

Confirm the actual panel model, native resolution, refresh rate, brightness and other display parameters in the order sheet. Use the approved sample to review the picture, viewing conditions and physical appearance. Do not assume that two TVs of the same size have identical panels or performance.

Agree the mainboard, memory and connections

Identify the mainboard and chipset proposed for your model. The smaller reference configurations list 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and two HDMI ports. The 50–65 inch references list 1.5GB RAM and 8GB storage, with memory options subject to configuration, and three HDMI ports. These are starting references, not fixed requirements for every order.

Confirm the number and specification of HDMI, USB, AV, LAN, tuner and audio connections. Also agree Wi-Fi, optional Bluetooth, ARC and CEC requirements. Check their operation on the proposed sample and record the approved hardware and software versions.

Confirm software and input power

Define the smart platform, operating system version, interface languages, remote control functions and update arrangements. List the applications your customers require and ask how their availability and any required authorization will be confirmed for the selected platform and market. An Android-based reference configuration does not by itself establish entitlement to Google services or particular streaming applications.

Hongxun confirms AC 90–264V as its current input power range. Include the required mains frequency, plug, power cord and product labeling in the order specification. Confirm the documentation relevant to the exact model and configuration; input voltage range alone does not establish country approval.

Approve one clear specification and sample

Combine the agreed panel, mainboard, tuner, software, ports, power input and branding into a single specification. Review the logo, startup screen, remote, manual, carton and accessories, then record sample approval and any remaining changes. Confirm the final model number and the applicable test reports or certificates before production.
